Designated Survivor actor Kiefer Sutherland travels Toronto’s hot, hot subway

Toronto's been under fire this summer for their hot as hell commutes -- especially on subway cars without air conditioning

Toronto’s TTC subway system has been under fire this summer for their hot as hell commutes — especially on subway cars without air conditioning. Now, actor Kiefer Sutherland has become the latest victim of the TTC heat wave.

Twitter user Safiah took a photo of the actor, sweltering alongside the standing, cramped masses on the TTC.

“It’s really hot on this train,” Sutherland told Safiah, according to her tweet.

Sutherland is filming an upcoming ABC TV series Designated Survivor in Toronto.

Toronto Mayor takes “super-hot” subway ride

Earlier this week, Toronto Mayor John Tory responded to a Twitter challenge from user Bianca Spence to take the TTC’s Line 2 from start to finish.

He exited the car, late for his news conference due to typical subway delays, with a new resolve to repair the air condition system.

“It was a perfect storm that came about to experience not only the discomfort, which was considerable, of being in a hot car, but also the experience of a transit system that was experiencing on that particular day and that particular time delays,” Tory told reporters once he exited the last stop of Line 2.
